July 2016 Favorites
It has been another busy month, but I recently cut down on a few writing commitments which should mean more time for blogging. I definitely have a lot of posts in the works, so you can expect to hear more from me this month.
Here are the favorites from last month- and for once, none of them are edible!
Ever since I bid farewell to my Urban Decay Naked Palette, I have been in need of a neutral, non-shimmery eye shadow that would work for every day. Cappuccino certain fits the bill. There isn’t any fallout, and it is easy to blend making it the perfect addition to my quick morning makeup routine.
I made the foolish mistake of picking at a blemish earlier in the month, and of course, it made things way worse than they otherwise would have been. You know what I mean- scabbing, peeling, and ickiness that looks even worse when you attempt to cover it with makeup. After applying aloe vera gel to the spot for about three consecutive nights, the area healed quickly and you could hardly even tell that the spot was ever there. I certainly don’t recommend messing with your breakouts, but if you just cannot help yourself, reach for the aloe vera!
After reading rave reviews about this mineral foundation in one of my green beauty groups, I just had to order it (especially since it is intended for sensitive skin). There is a wide range of colors to choose from, so my color matched perfectly. Many mineral foundations are too chalky and powdery, but this formula is so creamy and just melts right into the skin. With any mineral foundation, a little goes a long way. If you are looking for a foundation with a natural, medium coverage, order a sample of Lucy Minerals.
Bar soap has become such a guilty pleasure. I’m constantly trying new ones- from both local sources and mainstream stores. I’m loving this one by Shea Moisture lately because it is thick, lathers up, smells fresh, and is very hydrating.
Oh. My. Goodness. This serum is incredible! I’ve been using it religiously morning and night for the past month which has resulted in a more radiant complexion, less dryness, and decreased hyperpigmentation. At just $20 per full sized bottle, this stuff is a steal!
My last post was dedicated to Norwex, so I won’t get into too much detail. But…I just could not do a monthly favorites without including the EnviroCloth. I am truly not exaggerating when I say that they make cleaning so much easier, and dare I add, fun.
This is the name of a TV show, and also a fact. I do love Kellie Pickler- and if you are a longtime reader, this is not new information. Aside from her amazing (and seriously underrated) voice, she is hilarious and genuine. In this reality show, which airs on CMT, we get to see Kellie as a wife, friend, businesswoman, performer, and regular country girl. If you liked Newlyweds, I think you would love this hilarious endearing show. Season two begins at the end of this month!
