Links I’m loving lately| Trader Joe’s, beauty, DIY & more
The number of bookmarks saved on my laptop has gotten pretty out of control lately, so I thought it was time for a little clean-up. While going through the list, I realized that a lot of what I bookmarked is definitely worth sharing with you.
As much as I love Trader Joe’s, it is a big misconception that everything you’ll find there is healthy. They don’t stock the store with foods that contain high fructose corn syrup and other nasty ingredients, but a lot of their products, especially the frozen variety, are loaded with sodium. This link can help you navigate through the frozen foods section more quickly.
I’m all for looking younger, and always appreciate natural and inexpensive ways of doing so. MT will just have to suffer through my funky orange face as I try to recapture my youth.
This is one of the easiest DIY beauty products ever, and it can even make a great gift!
I made this chili a few weeks ago, and it was easy, delicious, healthy, and husband approved. The recipe yielded a ton of leftovers, which I stored in the freezer for those “I don’t feel like cooking a darn thing” kind of nights.
With all of the skincare and makeup on the market today, it is easy to forget that much of how we look starts on the inside. I love this list of healthy foods, especially since it way more fun to eat than it is to exfoliate.
I’m definitely a beet lover. This blog by Sara Snow (someone who has inspired me for years to adopt a more natural lifestyle) breaks down why it is important to eat them and how to prepare them. Totally random, but does anyone remember the cartoon named Doug and the band that he liked called The Beets? Now I have their song “Killer Tofu” stuck in my head.
As this article points out, social media can be a real productivity killer. Aside from that, I don’t like to check Facebook first thing in the morning because it can actually be kind of a downer. We all have at least one friend who likes to complain nonstop with statuses about every little ache and pain they have and how much they hate Mondays. Who needs that negativity first thing in the morning?
