May 2016 Favorites
Please note: This is not a sponsored post, but the foundation was sent to me for consideration. As always, any reviews reflect my own true opinions.
May was a very busy month for me between the kids, kitchen renovations, and an awesome mini-vacation to Savannah which is why I didn’t get the opportunity to post as often as I would have liked. I’m hoping that June isn’t quite as hectic, and I can get back on a better posting schedule.
Last month, I didn’t have a ton of favorites, but this month, I don’t even know where to begin! I actually had to leave some things out of this post to save them for next month because it started to get a bit out of control!
The kids and I play outside every chance we get, so this stuff has been my best friend lately. It contains broad spectrum SPF 30, doesn’t break me out or make my skin appear oily or greasy, and helps my makeup to stay on longer. You do have to work it into the skin a bit, but that’s truly the only negative that comes to mind.
I’ve become such a highlighter hoarder lately. Lumina is definitely the one that I have been reaching for over the past several weeks. It provides a very subtle luminosity, and I appreciate how it lasts all day.
As you know, I love the Kypris Clearing Serum, but the price isn’t my favorite. I had been searching for something that was just as effective but a little less expensive and finally found it with the Osmia spot treatment. It clears up my random breakouts in 1-2 days and immediately takes away much of the redness. I’ve been so impressed! Don’t be turned off by the teeny tiny bottle. This spot treatment lasts a very long while because you truly only need to use a little dab at a time.
I’ve told you a million times that I am a blush addict, and that I have a pretty good collection. Well, ever since I got this one (my first Antonym purchase, by the way), I haven’t reached for any others. The staying power is phenomenal, packaging is amazing, and the color is just gorgeous. It looks especially great now that I have a bit of a tan. This is a gateway product because now I want to try everything by Antonym!
I prefer to wear a powder foundation in the summertime, and this is definitely my favorite after all of the ones I’ve ever used (and I’ve tried a lot of them!). It effortlessly blends into my skin, doesn’t emphasize dry patches or clog my pores, and never makes my face look too shiny. I also like that it isn’t super heavy coverage and lets some of my freckles peek on through.
When you’re out in the sun, your lips can really take a beating, so I’ve been applying this throughout the day to keep my lips hydrated and smooth. It smells like cocoa butter and contains no potentially irritating essential oils. I’m pretty sure that it is going to be a staple in my skin care collection.
I love essential oils but find that a lot of them smell too earthy for my liking. Well, that is definitely not the case with jasmine essential oil. I have been diffusing it all throughout my house, and it makes my home smell of fresh flowers. It is the perfect oil for this time of the year!
It is no secret that I am a bit of a smoothie addict. I have one every morning for breakfast, but I hate the brain freeze that comes along with having to chug them as I am rushing out the door to take Michael to school. When I saw this tumbler, I knew that I just had to get it because it makes it so easy to take my smoothies with me when I am on the go. It’s BPA free, insulated, dishwasher safe, and a total must-have if you drink smoothies as much as I do.
I’d love to read about some of your favorites from the month of May, so please share them in the comments! And remember that you can always see my favorite things under the Shop My Favorites menu. It is being updated constantly!
