My best tips for health and happiness

Even though I’m not big on making resolutions, I do think that we should constantly strive to improve ourselves and make our lives richer.

In fact, that’s kind of the point of this blog.

In the two years that The Grass Skirt has been in existence, I’ve shared lots of tips on health, happiness, and well-being.  I compiled some of them here for you today and hope that you’ll consider some of these recommendations in the New Year.

Here it goes…

Try using at least some non-toxic beauty and personal care products.

Cut down on sodas (including diet soda).

Try a new exercise DVD.

Start juicing and drinking green smoothies (I have another post on juicing coming very soon!)

Consider taking digestive enzymes.

Incorporate dry brushing into your daily routine.

Wear sunscreen.

Get organized.

Pamper yourself every now and then (and maybe even try some at-home spa treatments).

Stop using artificial sweeteners and/or consider switching to stevia instead.

Break your addiction to celebrity gossip (if you have one, of course).

Don’t compare yourself to others and embrace your differences.

Eat more local foods and foods that are in season.

Eat more greens.

Drink more tea.

Learn to eat healthfully on a budget.

Experiment with items from the bulk bins at your local health food store.

Adopt these habits for more energy.

Learn how to manage stress.

Know how to protect yourself in threatening situations.

Try some new healthy foods.

Get more sleep (new mothers will laugh at this one…).

Start cooking with coconut oil.

Try drinking aloe vera juice.

Develop your own family traditions.

Learn to eat with balance.

What other tips would you like to see on the blog?  Have any of the tips above been helpful to you?

Thank you for all of your support over the course of these past two years.  It is greatly appreciated, and there’s lots more to come!
