My current nighttime skincare routine (face and body)

As I wrote in my morning skincare routine post, I’m pretty into my nightly skincare regime and actually look forward to the whole ritual.  I’ll admit that there are definitely some nights when I’m so tired that all I want to do is crawl straight into bed and skip the process altogether, but the threat of waking up with breakouts  just isn’t worth the risk.  Plus, I always seem to get into it all once I begin.

You might have thought my daytime routine was extensive, but you haven’t seen anything yet!

Nontoxic Daytime Skincare Routine

1. Exfoliate my lips (about 2-3 times per week) using one of the scrubs featured in my lip care post.

2. Exfoliate my face about 2 times per week with Avalon Organics Exfoliating Enzyme Scrub in Lavender.

3. Cleanse with jojoba or castor oil, pat dry, and cleanse again with Ursa Major Fantastic Face Wash.

          The oils do a really great job of removing my eye makeup.  I use the jojoba oil more often and use the castor oil when my skin breaks out because it helps to remove bacteria and purge the skin.  It is extremely thick and goopy, but the Ursa Major wash is really effective when it comes to removing all of the oil.

Double cleansing has made such a difference in my skin!  Using this method, I really get all of the makeup and gunk off of my face which allows my other products to really penetrate into the skin and work their magic.

4. Apply a face mask once per week. Right now, I cannot get enough of my Mermaid Mask!

4. Spritz my face with rose water to hydrate.

5. Pat a few drops each of: Kypris Antioxidant Dew, Kypris Clearing Serum, Kypris Moonlight Catalyst, and rosehip seed oil into my face- working down my neck.

6.  Moisturize with the CV Skin Labs Calming Moisture if my skin is extra dry.

7. Pat some REN Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel onto my under eye area.

8.  Apply a nourishing lip balm.

8. Massage coconut oil into my feet before applying some cozy socks.  I’ll also rub any extra oil onto my elbows and on my calves and knees.

This last little step has made my feet so soft!


I discontinued the use of my Clarisonic about two months ago because I started to feel that it was a bit too harsh and abrasive on my skin.  Since I stopped using it, my skin is far less irritated, and the double cleansing is just as thorough when it comes to deep cleaning my face.
