My current morning skincare routine (face & body)

Thank you so much for all of the sweet comments, emails, messages, etc. about Megan’s birth.  They really mean a lot to me.

We’re both doing fantastic!  Not to sound too much like Brooklyn Decker’s character in What to Expect When You’re Expecting, I was allowed to leave the hospital pretty early, and despite getting less sleep at night, I have a fair amount of energy and am not in any pain with the exception of a little cramping. Megan is a little peanut, but she’s nice and healthy and her appetite is gradually increasing.  Her brother and sister are curious about her, but they aren’t really sure what to fully make of her just yet.

From babies to skincare…

I finally found a routine that really works well for me, and I’m completely in love with the products that I use.  It is kind of funny that I am doing this post right now though that being that my skin is freaking out from the pregnancy hormones!

Obviously, being a green beauty blogger, I do add in some other products here and there, but what you are about to see is pretty much my daily routine.  I’ll share my nighttime routine (which is much more extensive) next week.

Nontoxic Daytime Skincare Routine

1. Cleanse with Ursa Major Fantastic Face Wash

The wash foams a bit and the scent really wakes me up! Well, that plus a few cups of coffee…

2. Cleanse body in the shower with a homemade nontoxic soap.

3. Exfoliate with the Vanilla Bean Body Scrub by 100% Pure about once per week.

4. Moisturize body with sweet almond oil.

Even though I’m really into using oils on my body right now, I still love the 100% Pure
Vanilla Bean Nourishing Body Cream and the Andalou Naturals Body Lotion in Vitalizing Mandarin Vanilla and will definitely still use them.

5. Mist face with rose water to hydrate.

6. Pat a few drops each of: Kypris Antioxidant Dew, Kypris Clearing Serum, and rosehip seed oil into my face- working down my neck.

7.  Moisturize with the CV Skin Labs Calming Moisture if my skin is extra dry.

8. Pat some REN Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel onto my under eye area.

I have several samples of this that I have been using for about two months now, but I am definitely going to buy a full-sized one.  It is really hydrating, and at just $30, pretty inexpensive for an undereye product.

9.  Apply a light SPF to my entire face and neck area.

I’m currently in search of a really good nontoxic option, so please let me know if you have any recommendations.

When  I was younger, I was more into makeup than skincare, but these days, skincare is much more important to me.  I really try to take good care of my skin, and I enjoy the ritual of applying everything.  However, I actually enjoy my nighttime even more, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you!
