Non-toxic hairsprays (and giveaway winners)

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

In honor of this holiday, my friend Brittney and I went to see “The Vow” over the weekend.  It was a really sweet movie, and Rachel McAdams was amazing and gorgeous, as always.  I’d definitely recommend it!

Anyway, before the movie started Brittney told me that she’s recently switched over to a lot of safer cosmetic and health care products (which was music to my ears), and she asked me if I knew of any non-toxic hairsprays.

And I was actually stumped.

(Sorry- I couldn't resist posting a picture from the movie "Hairspray")

Hairspray was something that I really hadn’t considered since I don’t really use it that often.  However, I vowed (get it? ;)) to do some research and let her know what I discovered.

Well, I quickly learned that when it comes to natural hairsprays…it is slim pickins.  Even so, I came across a few that look pretty good.

(The scores below are based on the Cosmetics Database.  A score of 0-2 is low hazard, 3-6 is moderate, and 7-10 is high.)

Have you tried any of these hairsprays?  If so, please let us know what you think of them.  It is always nice to read a review before buying something.

Do you have any plans for Valentine’s Day?  We’re having a nice dinner in, but we’re going out on Saturday.  I just love this day- and anything with cute little hearts- so I’m pretty happy right now!

Before I sign off, the winners of the Skinny Pop Popcorn giveaway are Lizzy and Christina.  Congrats, ladies!  Shoot me an email (easturner@gmail.com) with your mailing address, and I’ll get your popcorn out to you. 🙂  Thanks to everyone else who entered.

Have a wonderful day with those you love!
