November 2015 Favorites
(Please note: I received some of these items as samples as disclosed below, but I was not paid to feature or review any of them. As always, these are my own true thoughts and opinions.)
I easily could have listed 100 favorites this month, but I did my best to keep the list as short as possible. I’ll actually be giving one of these favorites away to one of you, and it’s really good, so stick around!
This nail polish came in a Petit Vour box, and I was really surprised that I liked it as much as I did. A lot of natural polishes are very watery, but this one wasn’t too wet or streaky at all. It also dried super fast! The beautiful gold color is perfect for this time of the year too. My only complaint is that it did chip pretty quickly, but to be fair, I didn’t use a base or top coat.
This skin care product is made with just six ingredients. Six! And they are actually six ingredients that I can pronounce and understand. You can use it on your face and body, and it seriously is just like butter. It melts into the skin and leaves it silky, soft, and smooth. I have the original butter, so there isn’t a scent, but I am dying to try the vanilla and mint chocolate now. Something tells me that they’ll make me hungry though!
I finally discovered my holy grail skin care routine (which I am going to share next week), and this product is a part of that routine. Honestly, I don’t recall a product being this life-changing for me in awhile. You know how there’s nothing like having perfectly clear skin, and that’s what this stuff delivers. Not to jinx myself, but if I get a breakout, I don’t even stress over it anymore because I know that this serum will take it away within 1-2 days. I love everything that I have used by Kypris and cannot speak highly enough of the line in general. It isn’t the cheapest in the world due to its high quality ingredients, but for me, it is worth every penny.
Speaking of life changing products, I guess I’d have to add this elixir into that category as well. While I am a big fan of essential oils, in my experience, the Lotus Wei products are even more effective. They deserve a post all of their own (and you can expect to see one within the next few weeks), but Infinite Love was definitely a standout last month. Made with flower essences, this elixir is intended to help us experience “unconditional love for yourself & others; attract love + affection, enhanced magnetism, attractiveness + charisma. Magnifies gentleness, compassion, softness + receptivity.” I also find that it keeps me feeling calm and less anxious. I either take a few drops under my tongue several times a day or add a dropper to my coffee or water. I actually don’t mind the sweet flowery taste. I know that it probably sounds a little kooky and off the wall, but I swear that it works!
This oil was actually sent to me as a sample. Being the distracted mother that I am, I just assumed that it was a serum and applied it to my wet hair one morning before drying it which resulted in a very greasy, bad hair day. Just when I was ready to write it off and give it away to a friend hoping she’d have better results, something made me read the bottle, and that’s when I learned that this isn’t a serum… it is a hair treatment. Now I work it into my hair before I workout and then rinse it out in the shower before I shampoo and condition. My hair never looks weighed down after I use it. Instead it is always soft and shiny and, as the name says, rejuvenated.
Hemp hearts have been a food favorite of mine for a few months now. I sprinkle them on salads and smoothies and even use them to coat my fish before baking. I really enjoy the subtle nutty flavor and the fact that they are such a great source of protein, healthy fats, and iron.
If you know of someone who likes to cook and experiment with different seasonings and flavors, this would make the perfect gift. RawSpiceBar is a subscription box that delivers 3 freshly ground, exotic and global flavors from around the world for just $6/month. Each box includes 3 kitchen-tested recipes and an origin & history of spices from that region. Past spice boxes have included Istanbul, Navajo, Japanese, among many others. I actually received a free trial last month that came with three Ethiopian recipes, including one for Pumpkin Spice Ricotta Donuts, and the accompanying spices. It was such a fun way to try something new! If you’d like to try out a box, use the code: tryrawspicebar for 50% off the first box (no expiration).
