Friday Favorites (9/26)

Friday Favorites (9/26)

Happy Friday! Despite not feeling great this week, I managed to build quite a hefty list of favorites.  As always, I narrowed it down to five and hope you enjoy reading about them.   Korres Black Pine Firming, Lifting & Antiwrinkle Night Cream I received a sample of this night cream, and I definitely plan to purchase the full sized product.  Because I only got a few uses out of my sample, I don’t know if its anti-aging claims hold true, but I loved how glowing and radiant my skin looked the next day after using the cream. The...

Lip scrubs to address any beauty concern

Lip scrubs to address any beauty concern

Over the course of the summer, the sun can really take a beating on our lips leaving them burned and dehydrated.  Then the cooler months roll around and all of that wind and crisp air can make them dry and chapped. A few weeks ago, I wrote about some of my favorite exfoliating products for the face.  Well, it is every bit as important to exfoliate our lips to keep them soft and supple all year round- and anyone who might kiss you soon will surely be appreciative. Because it can sometimes be overwhelming to choose which products to use, I...

15 weird questions tag

15 weird questions tag

Happy Friday! The “15 weird questions tag” has been floating around the blog world for awhile, and even though, to my knowledge, no one has tagged me, I figured that I’d go ahead and answer the questions anyway. I hope you’ll enjoy learning a little bit more about me! 1. What’s a nickname only your family calls you? My parents call me Ariel and Er (pronounced “air”), and MT calls me Boo.  Oh and my son calls me mommy.  No one else calls me that. 2. What’s a weird habit of yours? I had to ask MT to...

Why you should add castor oil to your beauty routine

Why you should add castor oil to your beauty routine

I’m a major fan of using oils for oiling pulling, moisturizing the face and body, and as hair treatments.  In the past, I have mainly used almond oil, avocado oil, olive oil, and of course, coconut oil, but castor oil has recently earned its place in my bathroom cabinet. Castor oil is a vegetable oil that is widely used in soaps, paints, and dyes (among many other things) and is most well-known as having a laxative effect when taken orally.  You can find castor oil in health food stores, but I purchase mine on Amazon and...

Friday Favorites (9/12)

Friday Favorites (9/12)

Happy Friday! Before I get into my weekly favorites, I just want to thank everyone for the sweet comments and feedback on my spin-off mommy blog.  Your kind words always mean so much, and as I said, I am really excited about this new little venture. And here are those favorites…   Guava Goddess Kombucha Just when I thought that I’ve tried nearly every flavor of GT’s Kombucha, I realized that I never had the Guava Goddess.  Horrifying, I know. Anyway, I picked it up at Target this week, and I think it might be my new...

10 Fall inspired smoothies

10 Fall inspired smoothies

I have to admit that I am totally over the summer.  I’m honestly just not a beach and hot weather kind of person. To me, the temperatures in the spring and fall are where it’s at.  I love the freshness in the air and the fact that my face doesn’t feel like it will sweat off or freeze off during those months. I am not going to completely hate on summer though.  I do love a few things about it, such as going to the farmer’s market (Oh, how I’ll miss the tomatoes!), getting to wear comfy sundresses and sandals,...

My new mommy blog is live!

My new mommy blog is live!

Happy Monday! As you can tell by the title of this post, my mommy blog The Mini Skirt is officially up and running.  I’m so excited! Just to recap a bit for anyone who didn’t know that I would be making the change… I decided to create a spin-off mommy blog with just my baby, toddler, parenting, and pregnancy related posts because I know that not all of my original readers care about that stuff.  For that reason, I had been holding back on some of the mommy posts that I really wanted to share.  Now, with two blogs, the sky...

The woes of toddler nutrition (giveaway closed)

The woes of toddler nutrition (giveaway closed)

I have one of the pickiest toddlers in the world living in my house.  That’s why I was so thrilled to try Enfagrow as part of this sponsored post program.     Like every other adult on the planet, I’ve faced my fair share of obstacles and challenges in my lifetime.  And I am only half joking when I say that getting my toddler to eat ranks right up there on my list of biggest challenges. Why is it that toddlers will eat something one day and then turn their noses up at the very same food just the next day?  And how come...

Friday Favorites (9/5)

Friday Favorites (9/5)

Happy Friday! Here are my favorites from the week… Apothederm Moisturizing Cleanser While I tend to stick to one skin care routine for awhile, I love trying out new face washes.  This one by Apothederm is wonderful, especially if you have dry skin.  It contains avocado oil, carrot, and seabuckthorn- all ingredients that fight the effects of aging and add hydration to the skin.  I have been liking it so much that I actually might stick with it for awhile…which says a lot coming from me.   Kettlebell The first time that I...
