Things I didn’t share Friday (2/28)

Things I didn’t share Friday (2/28)

  1.  The reality that tomorrow is the 1st of March, and I’ll be delivering another baby in roughly 5 weeks is starting to hit me.  On one hand, I feel like I’ve been pregnant for two solid years, and on the other, I cannot believe how fast this second pregnancy is going!  I still have a lot of things to do to prepare, but I am trying not to freak out (at least not too much anyway). 2.  Even though I am practically BFFs with Jessica Robertson, MT and I agreed that it was finally time to drop Duck Dynasty from our DVR...

(Please note: This is not a sponsored post.  All opinions stated below are my own true thoughts.)   I’m a big jewelry lover- classic pieces, statement pieces, vintage, macaroni noodle necklaces made by my children someday… I don’t really discriminate. That being said, it is kind of difficult to justify buying new pieces when I already have a pretty extensive jewelry collection. Do I already own something similar?  Do I really need it?  Does it work with anything in my wardrobe? Those are some of the questions that I...

Healthy eats from the past few weeks

Healthy eats from the past few weeks

A few weeks ago, I wrote that I planned to bring back my “Healthy eats” posts (and more healthy eating posts in general).  Oddly enough, I am starting today- on a day when I have a massive headache coupled with extreme nausea.  I’ve actually felt like this for several days now (hence the major lack of posts this week).  I have no idea if it’s a bug or the pregnancy, but the feeling has basically rendered me useless. But enough about all of that.   Here are some of my recent meals and snacks.  Hopefully,...

Delicious dairy-free alternatives to regular ice cream

Delicious dairy-free alternatives to regular ice cream

This post is totally inspired by today’s pregnancy craving for a milkshake and the fact that we’ve been blessed with nice warm weather here in Charlotte over the past few days. Warm weather = ice cream, right? If you also have a dairy sensitivity, you know that it isn’t easy to satisfy a random milkshake craving.  I mean, they’re not exactly giving out dairy-free milkshakes at Steak ‘n Shake.  Yes, there’s always the option to make one at home, but it’s just not as much fun.  I realize that there...

Mini weekend recap & baby girl clothing haul

Mini weekend recap & baby girl clothing haul

After lots of weather-related delays, MT finally made it home on Friday night.  We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a romantic dinner of Chicken Parmesan, garlic bread, and salad.  I also made red velvet cake since it’s MT’s favorite dessert. I looked on longingly as MT sipped his wine.  Have I mentioned that I cannot wait to be able to drink wine again?   The rest of the weekend consisted of lots of family time and errands.  We also watched Captain Phillips which was so good even though it was pretty intense. ...

Things I didn’t share Friday (2/14)

Things I didn’t share Friday (2/14)

1.  As I’m sure you already know, the Carolinas actually got hit with some snow this week.  I was pretty excited about it at first because it was Michael’s first real snow.  He was so intrigued by it and ran right out onto the snow covered lawn to play.  All was good until he face planted and wanted nothing more to do with it. 2.  I was totally over the snow myself after being stuck in the house with a toddler for three days in a row while MT was out of town.  He was supposed to be back home two days ago, but his flights...

Snack time check-in & we’re snowed in!

Snack time check-in & we’re snowed in!

When you live in the south, snow days are obviously a pretty rare occurrence. A lot of the time, snow might be in the forecast, but it either never actually comes or it’s a really light dusting.  This time, we’re actually getting hit with it pretty hard, and the Governor told everyone to prepare to lose power once the ice hits. I grew up in New York where the power lines were underground, so power loss is not something that I’m used to at all.  I’ve been preparing food all day, washing dishes, doing laundry, filling...

Things I didn’t share Friday (2/7)

Things I didn’t share Friday (2/7)

  1. When MT and I went on our date last weekend, he ordered ahi tuna.  It came with pretty typical sides, such as cucumber salad, wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger.  MT never eats the ginger, and I’ve noticed that a lot of other people do the same.  Am I the only one who absolutely loves that stuff?  I need to buy myself a jar of it soon- or make it on my own! 2. Remember when I told you that my memory has been horrible lately?  Well, my newest issue is dropping things- such as a glass storage container filled with...

Things I’m loving lately (February 2014)

Things I’m loving lately (February 2014)

Happy Thursday! My list of favorites has been growing lately, so I felt like it was time to share some of them with you (especially since I’m pretty sure that one of the things on my list is on sale right now).   Big Spender Nail Polish It is rare that I’ll apply the same polish for weeks in a row, but I’ve reapplied this color three times over in the past month and haven’t gotten remotely sick of it yet.  I think this is actually a perfect year-round color even though it was released in a fall...
