Mommy fashion & beauty essentials

(Please note: I received the Links of Necklace for free, but I have not been paid to write this post.  All opinions below reflect my own true thoughts and opinions.)   If you’re a fellow mommy, your clothes are probably also covered in unidentifiable stains most of the time, and you most likely don’t have the luxury of getting dressed to the nines every single day. I’ve said it time and time again, but I still think that it is important for us to take care of ourselves and look polished- mostly because it makes us feel...

Things I’m loving lately

Things I’m loving lately

First order of business… I am still pregnant.  This baby girl is awfully cozy in my belly!  Like I keep on saying though, I know that she’ll come out when she is good and ready. And now onto all of the things I’ve been loving lately… I actually had a really difficult time narrowing down the list this month.  I’ve been using some great products!     1.  IT Cosmetics CC Cream with SPF 50+ You might recall that I mentioned this product in my 5-minute face routine, but I just had to bring it up again...

Life lately…

Life lately…

Although my doctor had a hunch that my baby girl might arrive this past weekend, she decided to hibernate in my belly for a bit longer.  I was honestly kind of happy because MT and I were able to go out for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday (which was yesterday- April Fool’s Day). I had pretty strong contractions all weekend though, and on Sunday morning, I was totally convinced that I’d have her that day.  I even made sure that we brought my hospital bag with us whenever we left the house. When I...

Things I didn’t share Friday (3/28)

Things I didn’t share Friday (3/28)

(Image source) As of last night, I was all set to do a normal Things I Didn’t Share Friday post today to tell you stuff like how much I loved Frozen (Kristen Bell is adorable even when she’s animated), how Michael busted a move in GAP the other day to James Brown (wish I caught it on video), that I’m newly obsessed with the soft pretzels sold at the convenience store down the street, and that I am really looking forward to an early birthday dinner with MT tomorrow night. However, I wasn’t prepared (until this morning)...

Book Review: The Body Book by Cameron Diaz

Book Review: The Body Book by Cameron Diaz

Even though she’s always appeared to be in killer shape, I never really thought of Cameron Diaz as the health-conscious type.  Maybe it’s because of her fun, care-free image or the fact that her character claimed to love eating meats on sticks in There’s Something About Mary, but whatever the case, I always assumed that she ate lots of junk food, was naturally thin, and only worked out when she had a movie role that called for her to be in shape. After seeing Cameron on a few television interviews promoting The Body Book:...

50 (more) uses for coconut oil

50 (more) uses for coconut oil

You may have noticed that when I like something, I get really enthusiastic about it and rave on and on…and on about it.  I’ve always been the sort of person who gets ridiculously excited when they open presents, and I’d probably make one heck of a QVC hostess. Most of the time, I continue to like and enjoy the items that I share here, but I do often move on and try new things. However, there are a few things/topics/people that I’ve written about to death on this blog throughout the past 3 (plus) years, such as salmon,...

Things I didn’t share Friday (3/21)

Things I didn’t share Friday (3/21)

1.  I’ve been sick for the past few days, and my symptoms have included chills, fever, a sore throat, a runny nose, sweating, and clogged ears.  In other words, you’re lucky that I’m not sitting beside you right now.  MT has taken very good care of me though and picked up takeout for dinner last night, so I wouldn’t have to cook.  Even though it stinks to be sick, I am so thankful that this came on now rather than 16 days from now when I am due to have a baby! 2.  I’ve had very intense cravings for unsweet...

{Updated} 5-minute face routine

{Updated} 5-minute face routine

Despite having a little one, getting ready in the morning has always been a pretty simple process.  We store a basket of waterproof toys in our bathroom to keep Michael occupied, and that always seemed to work really well.  When I’d turn on my hair dryer, he’d sit by my feet looking up at me with wonder.   He was even mesmerized by watching me use my eyelash curler. Birds weren’t landing on our windowsill singing morning tunes to us or anything like a scene right out of Cinderella, but the whole process was pretty close...

Recipe: Lemon butter salmon with kale mixture

Recipe: Lemon butter salmon with kale mixture

On Saturday night, I was struck hard by pregnancy insomnia.  My inability to sleep might also have been the unpleasant consequence of consuming caffeine for the first time in nearly 9 months.  In any case, I woke up wide awake at about 1:30 am and never fell back to sleep. I considered taking a shower.  I almost cleaned my closet.  I thought about all of the non-maternity clothes that I’d soon get to wear.  I wondered what our baby girl will look like.  And my mind also turned to what I was going to have for dinner that evening. As...

Style tips for looking your very best during pregnancy

Style tips for looking your very best during pregnancy

(Please note: While I did receive some clothing from Eve of Eden, all opinions stated below are my own. I was not paid to write this post.)   When I was pregnant with Michael, I felt as though I lost my own sense of style.  While I wasn’t exactly wearing tents and garbage bags, it just seemed like my maternity clothes weren’t “me”, and I was absolutely dying to get back into my regular clothes. By the way, why do maternity clothes come in such weird colors and patterns?  I swear that I actually found a skirt in...
