The best thing I’ve had to eat lately: Grilled cedar plank salmon

You’d probably come up with 1,000 links to previous posts if you searched the word “salmon” on this blog, which really, probably isn’t much of an exaggeration.

You all know that I have a major thing for salmon.

After MT bought a Traeger Pellet Grill, he offered to grill my salmon, but I was a little hesitate to hand over the salmon-making duties.  I mean, I’ve always baked my salmon in the oven or pan-fried it, and I have always been more than content.  Why mess with a good thing, right?

(Total side note: If you’re looking to invest in a good grill, we highly recommend a Traeger.  I swear that it makes everything taste better!)

Anyway, I guess that I was feeling all wild and crazy one evening because I asked if he’d mind putting my salmon on the grill, and I dressed it up using a recipe for Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon with Lemon Dill Topping.

The results were absolutely delicious!

I’ve actually made the recipe twice so far- the second time I thought that I had the recipe memorized and then, of course, I totally forgot the parsley.  In all honesty, it really didn’t make much of a difference though.

We got our cedar planks at Williams-Sonoma in a set of three. They work really well, but they do have to be replaced after a few uses.

We soak ours in water at least 30 minutes before grilling, but it is recommended to soak them for as much as 6 hours (or even overnight).

If you use wine, sake, or cider instead of water, the fish will really soak up the flavor of those liquids.  I hope to eventually experiment with those myself!

    Happy Week – Enjoy!
