Things I didn’t share Friday (5/3)

Things I didn't share Friday 5-3

1. My latest food kick is tilapia (still love my salmon though!).  I’ve been breading it with gluten-free breadcrumbs, which I make by putting some Udi’s bread in the food processor.   A little pepper and a squeeze of lemon along with some veggies, and it is the perfect quick and easy dinner.

2. Lucy has a nasty habit of constantly staring at me.  Not only is it extremely annoying, but it is tremendously creepy.  She rarely (if ever) does it to MT or the baby and specifically targets me…which makes the whole thing even creepier.

3. I saw this Geico commercial (starring the one and only Pillsbury Dough Boy) for the first time this week, and it completely cracked me up.  Clearly, I’m very easily entertained.

4. My old car was officially totaled after the accident, so… I got a new car this week!  It came with every safety feature known to man which has helped to ease my fears a bit.  Obviously, I wish that I’d never gotten in the wreck at all, but a new set of wheels is always fun.

5. Michael started on solid foods for the very first time this week with some mashed sweet potato.  I was positive that he’d love it, but I was very wrong.  His facial expressions certainly were hilarious though!

What is your favorite commercial right now?

Does your pet do anything that annoys you?

Happy Friday!

Oh no he didn’t like the sweet potatoes?! I don’t know if you did this or not but I’ve found that Benjamin will really only eat very puréed foods. Anything with more texture gets spit back out 🙂 So even though my sweet potatoes are already super soft and mashed, I still throw them in the food processor to get a really smooth finish. You could also try oatmeal or brown rice cereal mixed with formula (Earths Best organic is good!) Oh and I saw you had frozen mango chunks from Trader Joes – we got those recently, defrosted and puréed and it’s by far Benjamin’s favorite. He can’t eat it fast enough. Probably need to go through some basics before you move on to exotic fruit but hopefully he’ll like it! xo

    • Our doctor keeps saying that cereal has no nutritional value, but I might try it anyway. I think he’d like it. The sweet potato is definitely a texture thing, but I don’t think he likes the smell either! Next up is avocado or banana. 🙂 Good call on the mango!

  3. Ha! I love that Geico commercial too. It’s winner. 🙂 Hurray for a new car, and hurray for the weekend! Happy Friday!

  6. What kind of car did you get?

  7. Congrats on the new car! What did you get?
Amelia made the same funny faces when she started with food. Now I can’t shovel it in fast enough!

    • I got a Mercedes. It should keep us safe! I am SURE that Michael will love food eventually. He needs to keep up his chunky figure somehow. 🙂

  8. Woo hoo for new cars! Hope you love your new set of wheels!

  9. That tilapia looks great Erin! (and cute little baby!)
