Things I didn’t share Friday (8/23)

Things I didn't share Friday 8-23

1. I turned on my television one evening a few weeks ago, and the channel was set to ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss.  I decided to give it a try for a few minutes since I used to be a fan of The Biggest Loser, and I instantly became hooked.  This week’s episode was so good, and I found myself getting emotionally attached to the contestants.  I even went on ABC’s website to find out how they are doing now. Please tell me that I am not the only one who does things like that!

2.  Living in New York and Connecticut for years and years turned me into a massive Dunkin Donuts fan, and the hardest adjustment that I had to make when I moved down south was not having one nearby.  I was so desperate for my fix at one point that I actually looked into opening my own franchise.  Seriously.  Well, my prayers were answered last week when a Dunkin Donuts drive-thru opened up right down the street from my house.  I’ve since been there an embarrassing amount of times, and the woman who works the drive-thru window already recognizes me.

3.  Even though it didn’t really suit the occasion, I couldn’t resist wearing my new necklace with my chambray shirt from J. Crew at the air show on Saturday.  It looked pretty cute- if I do say so myself.

4. Michele, one of my very favorite beauty gurus on You Tube, recently posted a video in which she declared that she is going on a makeup no buy for a little over a month.  Since I have a ridiculous amount of makeup and barely even use half of it, I decided to join her.  I even canceled my ipsy subscription!  Hopefully, I can make it through the month because Sephora is always pretty tempting.

5. Michael and I went to visit my sister and my nieces yesterday, and it was the first time that he actually acknowledged the girls.  As soon as he saw Ava on the floor in her vibrating seat, he crawled right over and was all up in her personal space.   I think it means that he loves her. 🙂

Have a great weekend!

  1. i’m still loving #3/that necklace shirt combo!! so fab!!! happy weekend!!

  2. Pretty cool your handsome wee dude has cousins to grow up with – the two girls just may give him a run for his money though – ha! I have a very smart lady in my life and she will not leave the house until she has her jewels on and her lips made up. So I say wear the jewelry you love instead of having it collect dust, especially if it makes you FEEL BETTER:) Happy Friday – Happy Weekend

  3. Do they have Krispy Kreme where you live? I’m a huge fan of their doughnuts…so I feel you on the doughnut love! 🙂

    • They actually opened a Krispy Kreme right nearby when I was pregnant with Michael, and I was there WAY too often. LOL. I love DD for their whole grain bagels and coffee, and I turn to KK for the good sugary stuff. 😉

  4. I love the shirt/necklace combo and I alsp love the weight loss shows.

I too always get emotionally attached to the contestants.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. Michele

So glad you are joining me! We got this! So happy for you about DD. i dont know what I would do without it, lol

    • It’s amazing that I have survived this long without one! Hopefully, I can do this no makeup buying thing. I have a REALLY long wish list. Haha. Thankfully, announcing it on the blog kind of makes me accountable now. Have a great weekend, Michele! 🙂

  6. I haven’t seen extreme weight loss, but I can imagine if I did I would probably go searching to see how they were doing now, or even try to find their contact info to write them. 🙂 I love Dunkin Donuts coffee, especially their iced coffee! Too bad I stopped drinking coffee a month ago.

  7. Dunkin’ Donuts is my guilty pleasure. Nestled right down the road from our home, it’s so hard to resist the temptation for it…especially when it’s a drive-thru. Even if I do resist the temptation, there seems to be one on just about every corner after that….lol…eventually I just give in 🙂 (I’m so very weak…)

  8. hello from the lovin’ the weekend blog hop! I really like the necklace! Who cares about the occasion?? I bet you looked fabulous!

  9. So hysterical, I went through the same Dunkin’ Donuts withdrawal process when we moved. Lucky you to have one nearby now!!

I’m visiting today from Lovin’ the Weekend blog hop.

    • Haha. I wonder what they put in their coffee that makes us so crazy for it? 🙂

Thank you for stopping by! Off to visit your blog now.

  10. Girl, I lived half of my life back east (RI, MA & ME). I am pretty sure that it was part of a zoning code in Rhode Island that there had to be a Dunkin Donuts ever five square miles. When I moved to Arizona, I was devastated to find out that my closest opportunity for D&D was an hour away. Have I traveled that hour? YEP. 🙂 For the most part I make the coffee for myself at home, and am grateful to Costco for selling the coffee in bulk, and to my sister-in-law who once worked at D&D for giving me accurate ratios for my favorite iced coffee regular (can you believe that the first time I asked for an iced coffee regular the person thought I meant not decaf?). Thanks for sharing today.

  11. I LOVE Extreme Weight Loss! I super love Chris Powell!

  12. Love the necklace! All the other ladies at the air show were probably thinking you were rocking it and were secretly jealous! That’s usually what I think, “wow! I’m in a t-shirt and she looks so nice – she probably always dresses like that…”

When I was pregnant I stopped in the same DD to use the restroom on my way to work. Feeling bad I just stopped in to go the the bathroom, I would then buy a pumpkin donut. Yum! I think the ladies all knew me and were watching my pregnancy progress.

  13. Hello,

I just found your blog because of your comment on annasaccone.

I understand that you got emotionally attached to the contestants to EWL. I am like that with Project Runway.

Your necklace is very pretty but I still have to read where you wore it.

I always have faces of being obsessed about a certain dessert. Now it is the banoffee pie…

If it helps you I can join you in the not buying make-up for a month. Though we recently moved to an island which is to my advantage…

Are you wearing an Abercrombie top (green and dark blue) on your About page?

I am guessing our sons might be the same size. I have a pretty huge 7 months old. I would say… Micheal might be around 10 months? Sorry if I am guessing very, very wrong… I am a first time mom. (So maybe I should not play around with guessing ages…HAHA)

    xoxo, Eszter

    • You guessed exactly right. Michael is 10 months old tomorrow! 🙂 Isn’t it fun having a baby boy?

The top on my About Page is actually from Old Navy. I loved it so much, but I was pregnant with a big belly when I found it. I bought it anyway, and it was the first thing I wore after I had Michael. 🙂

  14. I love Tim Horton’s donuts! Thanks for joining us this week at the Let’s Get Social Sunday party. have a wonderful week!
